PTCA
Guide Wire

PTCA guide wires (Micro wires) are designed to navigate vessels to reach a lesion. guide wires are indicated to facilitate the placement of balloon dilatation catheters during percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Wires are characterized by their pushability, flexibility, steerability, torque and opacity. Guide wires are basically made of Solid steel or nitinol core wires and solid core wire wrapped in a smaller wire coil or braid. Coiled or braided wires offer a large amount of flexibility, pushability and kink resistance. wires are coated with a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), to increase lubricity. Hydrophilic coatings reduce friction during deployment and for easier movement in tortuous vessels.

Features
PTFE coating on the shaft plus and special coating on distal coils reduce friction and provide excellent catheter movement
Full length tapered core for excellent pushability-1:1 transmission from the proximal end to the tip
Moderate radiopacity of the shaft plus 2 marks to increase convenience of operation
Platinum alloy of distal coil guarantees visibility during x-ray process
Accurate quantification of tip hardness offers flexibility from super soft to super stiff
